Infinity pool hotels in Mauritius
Rooftop, beachfront and villa infinity pools, matched to the coast and season that suit you
Mauritius is ringed almost entirely by a coral reef, so most of its hotel pools look out over calm, shallow lagoons rather than open surf. The infinity pools on this page sit beside the beach, on two rooftops above Grand Baie, on a small peninsula at the island's northern tip and inside private villas.
The coast you choose matters as much as the hotel. The west and north-west get the sunsets and the warmest winter days, while the east is breezier, quieter and cooler from June to September.
Several family resorts keep one pool for adults, a few hotels accept only adults, from age 16 at Ocean V, and one rooftop pool in Grand Baie sells a day package to visitors. Our guide below compares the coasts, the seasons, the age rules and the price levels.
Compare the pool, the hotel highlights and the starting price, then jump to any hotel for photos and room details.

Constance Prince Maurice is an infinity pool hotel in Mauritius on the northeast coast at Poste de Flacq, where a white sand beach meets a calm lagoon and a mangrove-lined inlet. The main pool is a beachfront infinity pool shared by all guests. It sits at ground level just behind the sand, with a long vanishing edge facing the lagoon and loungers on a wooden deck alongside. A separate lap pool suits swimmers who want lengths.
A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, the resort offers suites and villas only, and the hotel says every room looks out over the beach or the mountains. Some Junior Suites and villas stand on stilts above the water. The Beach Villas with a Private Pool add their own heated pool and direct beach access, while the Princely Villa joins two Junior Suites and a villa, with private heated pools and a personal villa master.
Dining covers three restaurants, three bars and a wine cellar. Archipel looks across the beach and the infinity pool. Le Barachois is a floating restaurant reached by a lantern-lit pontoon through the mangroves, above a natural fish reserve, and the Barachois Floating Bar nearby is the place for sunset drinks. The Constance Spa has a thermal pool, a cold plunge pool, a sauna and a steam room. Children aged 4 to 11 can join the Coconut Tribe kids' club, which has its own pool.
Best for: honeymooners and families who want a kids' club beside a calm lagoon.
Turtle Bay, a protected marine park on the north-west coast, is the setting for The Oberoi Beach Resort, Mauritius. This infinity pool hotel in Mauritius has two outdoor pools with ocean views. The Turtle Bay pool is the infinity pool, edged with dark volcanic rock and stone columns. The hotel keeps it for adult guests but does not state a minimum age. The On The Rocks pool is open to all guests, and The Hub kids' club, for children aged 4 to 12, has its own heated pool.
The resort covers 20 acres of subtropical gardens. Its beachfront runs for about 600 meters (2,000 feet) along three crescents of white sand, with sunset views across the bay. Snorkeling trips in the marine park, kayaking and sailing are complimentary from the resort's own boat house.
Guests stay in thatched pavilions and villas with handmade furniture, most with a sunken marble bathtub. The Luxury Villas with Private Pool and the Royal Ocean View Villas add a courtyard garden, a dining pavilion and a heated private pool. The Restaurant serves Creole, Indian and international dishes, On the Rocks sets its tables on volcanic rocks at the edge of the ocean, and The Oberoi Spa focuses on signature massages and African-inspired treatments.
Best for: couples who want a quiet adult pool facing the sea, and families who value a kids' club with a pool of its own.

LUX* Grand Baie is an infinity pool hotel in Mauritius, set on a curved beach of the north coast next to the lively town of Grand Baie. Its shared rooftop infinity pool belongs to Bisou, the resort's rooftop bar and restaurant, and is more than 30 meters (100 feet) long, with a wide view over the lagoon. Guests rest in poolside cabanas or have lunch at tables set in the water, while a DJ plays soft music by day and turns it up at sunset. During the day Bisou is reserved for adults, and children may come up to dine with their parents.
Interiors are by British designer Kelly Hoppen. The Ocean Junior Suites on the second floor have terraces facing the lagoon. Heated private pools come with the two-bedroom Pool Villas, the three-bedroom Grand Beach Pool Villa on the sand, and the Pool Residences and Pool Penthouses, which stand across the road and connect to the resort by a skywalk. The villas and penthouses include butler service.
The resort has 4 restaurants and 3 bars, among them Beach Rouge, a beach club with Mediterranean food, and Ai KISU for contemporary Asian cuisine. The infinity pool at Paradise Cove Boutique Hotel sits at the far end of the hotel's own peninsula at Anse la Raie, on the north coast of Mauritius. Shared by all guests, it has a wooden deck with sunbeds and an edge that seems to merge with the turquoise lagoon, with the islands off the northern coast on the horizon. This is an adults-only infinity pool hotel in Mauritius, and only guests aged 18 and over can stay.
The Peninsula also has a Mediterranean restaurant for lunch and dinner and a bar that looks over the lagoon at sunset. The main swimming pool lies among coconut palms near the hotel's natural cove, where lounge chairs line the sand. Along the path to the Peninsula, thatched love nests hidden between palm trees give couples a private place to rest.
The 75 rooms and suites all look onto the cove and are designed for two adults, with double shower heads in every category. The two Senior Suites add a lounge area and a whirlpool. There are four restaurants, among them The Dining Room for contemporary Mauritian cooking and XO for Japanese food, and meal plans range from bed and breakfast to all-inclusive. The Cinq Mondes spa has a double massage kiosk overlooking the sea, and the wellness program includes yoga and Pilates classes. The hotel is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

All 190 rooms at The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa, Mauritius are suites, set along the beach at Balaclava on the north-west coast. This infinity pool hotel in Mauritius has two shared outdoor pools for hotel guests, and the resort lists both as infinity pools. The main pool runs at beach level just behind the sand, with its open edge facing the lagoon, and includes a children's pool. The second one is the pool of the Whisper Zone, a quieter area the resort marks as adult only; it does not publish a minimum age for it.
The resort sits within the natural marine park of Turtle Bay, and many suites look over the bay from a private balcony or terrace. Beachfront Suites are just steps from the ocean, while Banyan and Beachfront Suites add separate living and dining areas with ocean views. Wellness shapes the program. Heavenly Spa has a private garden to rest in before and after treatments, and private yoga sessions take place on the shoreline at sunrise. Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa stands on the beach at Wolmar, near Flic en Flac on the west coast, with a lagoon in front and Le Morne Brabant, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in the background. This infinity pool hotel in Mauritius has two pools. The adults-only infinity pool looks out over the ocean, and the hotel publishes no minimum age for it. The second pool is a spacious, kid-friendly pool area where families feel at home, and the Hibiscus Pool Bar serves cocktails next to the infinity pool.
Rooms and suites look over the palm garden and pools, or over Flic en Flac Beach toward Le Morne Brabant, and the beachfront suites add private outdoor space. Families can book the Beachfront Family Suite, with a separate living room, a private terrace and direct access to the sand, or the larger Grand Family Beachfront Suite. Two infinity pools look out over the Indian Ocean at InterContinental Mauritius Resort Balaclava Fort, a beachfront resort on Balaclava Bay on the north-west coast. Both are shared pools open to all hotel guests, and both are heated in winter. The main pool is a large beachfront infinity pool set just behind the sand, with an adjoining children's pool and drinks from the Sugarcane beach bar next to it. The Ocean View Pool, at the southern end of the resort, faces Balaclava Bay and Port Louis and is a quiet place for a sunset drink.
This infinity pool hotel in Mauritius has 210 rooms, 30 of them suites, and rooms open onto private terraces or balconies facing the sea. Deluxe Rooms measure 56 square meters (602 square feet), follow traditional Mauritian architecture and have an oversized bathtub. Guests at Sofitel Mauritius L'Imperial Resort & Spa, a beach resort at Wolmar, Flic en Flac, on the west coast, choose between two pools. The large main pool, which the hotel suggests for families, is open to everyone. Le Flamboyant, the resort's newer pool on the north wing, is an adults-only infinity pool with a swim-up bar that faces the sunset. The hotel publishes no age limit for it, and in the winter months, when Le Flamboyant is heated, children may swim there with their parents while it stays an adult quiet zone.
The rest of this infinity pool hotel in Mauritius follows an East Asian design, with a white sand beach, gardens with views of the mountain peaks and a zen Japanese garden. Many rooms and suites overlook the ocean or the Japanese garden. Magnifique Rooms have an ocean view and a furnished balcony or terrace, and the Opera and Imperial Suites add direct beach access. Prestige Suites have a sofa bed in the living room for children.
Lunch at the beach restaurant is grilled fish and meat. Kestrel Bar, between the pool and the ocean, looks over the lagoon, while the beach bar has live music and dancing on the sand in the evenings. The Asian-style Sofitel Spa offers massage and beauty rituals, and the gym overlooks the mountain.
Children from 4 to 12 can join the Le Petit Prince themed Kids Club, and the resort also has a kids' pool and a playground. Best for: couples who want sunset drinks at a swim-up bar, and families with children aged 4 to 12.

Every villa and residence at Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita comes with its own garden and private pool. At this infinity pool hotel in Mauritius, the infinity pools belong to specific categories: the Four-Bedroom Garden Residence has its own, and the Three-Bedroom Royal Sanctuary, at the tip of the resort's private island, Ile aux Chats, pairs a north-facing infinity pool with a heated plunge pool. The Oceanfront and Premium Beach-View Pool Villas have heated plunge pools. All guests share four outdoor pools, and the fitness center has a semi-Olympic lap pool.
The resort covers 64 acres on the east coast, bordered by a lagoon and the ocean, with Bambou Mountain behind it. Its 136 villas and residences have terraces that look over the ocean, gardens or mangroves, and they were redesigned during a seven-month renovation before the resort reopened in late 2025. The resort also keeps a beach on Ile aux Cerfs reserved for Four Seasons guests, and non-motorized water sports are included for everyone.
Oseyan Spa stands on wooden pillars above the lagoon, and its Royal Spa Suite can be booked by the hour. There are five restaurants, and golfers can choose between the Ernie Els-designed Anahita Golf Club and Bernhard Langer's course on Ile aux Cerfs. Kids For All Seasons welcomes children aged 4 to 9. Teenagers have their own club for ages 10 to 18.
Best for: couples who want a private pool villa by a calm lagoon, and families or groups of friends taking a residence.
Ocean V Hotel is built around its rooftop, where an infinity pool, a restaurant and a bar look over a calm bay. The hotel stands at Pereybere, just north of Grand Baie on the north coast of Mauritius. The rooftop infinity pool is shared by all guests and looks out to sea, with wide views of the bay at sunset. A modern boutique property, it is an adults-only infinity pool hotel in Mauritius for guests aged 16 and over.
The 38 rooms are spread over two levels in five categories. Superior Rooms face the mountains, while Deluxe Rooms, with a queen bed or twin beds, have a private balcony with a partial view of the Indian Ocean. The three suite categories have ocean views. The Senior Suite adds a separate lounge and a deep soaking bathtub, and the Panoramic Suite, the largest, has 360-degree views of the ocean, the surrounding landscape and the distant mountains, plus a freestanding bathtub.
The Rooftop Restaurant serves local and international dishes from breakfast to dinner, with views of the ocean and the mountains. Manzu, the second restaurant, offers Asian fusion teppanyaki with live cooking in the evening. The Rooftop Bar serves signature cocktails from morning until late evening, and a Lounge Bar offers coffee, light bites and drinks. In the evening the restaurants ask for elegant attire, with long pants and shoes for men. SeaSpa has one double and two single treatment rooms, and there is a fitness room. Best for: couples who want a lively rooftop pool and bar, and travelers looking for a modern base near Grand Baie and Pereybere to explore the island.
Thatched and shingle roofs, timber spa pavilions and a village of Creole-style villas set the tone at Anelia Resort & Spa, a four-star beach resort on Dolphins Bay at Flic en Flac, on the west coast of Mauritius. This infinity pool hotel in Mauritius has two infinity pools with ocean views, both shared by all guests, plus two separate kids' pools. The main pool sits in the gardens just behind the sand: a beachfront infinity pool with a cascading water feature and its edge open to the ocean.
Much of the resort's daily life happens around this pool. La Toque Blanche, the main restaurant, overlooks it and serves themed buffet dinners, with weekly Sega and cultural shows. The Dolphin Bar sits beside the pool, and the hotel suggests watching for dolphins from there. On the sand, the Esplanade Beach Grill serves seafood under a thatched roof, and the Sunset Bar offers rum cocktails as the sun goes down over the sea.
Rooms range from Superior rooms with a newer, contemporary design and a balcony to ground-floor Deluxe rooms with a sofa bed. The bungalows have one to three bedrooms, a kitchenette and a terrace in the tropical gardens. The Garden Spa has six treatment rooms in individual timber-roofed pavilions, plus a hammam, a sauna and an outdoor hot tub in the garden. The boat house arranges kayaks, glass-bottom boat trips, snorkeling and scuba diving, with a supplement for diving.
Best for: couples who want a relaxed beach resort on the sunset coast, and families who need a bungalow with a kitchenette and kids' pools.
Shaped like a panga, the long knife that Mauritians use to cut sugar cane, the main pool at SO/ Sofitel Mauritius runs along the beach at Bel Ombre. It is a shared infinity pool open to all guests, its seaward edge facing the lagoon and the Indian Ocean, and it is heated in winter. At Takamaka Bar, under a tall thatched roof, cushioned leather seats are set right in the water, and Le Flamboyant, the themed buffet restaurant, sits beside the pool.
This infinity pool hotel in Mauritius is on the wild south coast, an area known for its protected turquoise lagoon and forests. Architect Lek Bunnag designed the resort and designer Kenzo Takada imagined the interiors. The SO Suites have a terrace and a garden view toward the sea, and some add a private garden with an open-air bathtub. The SO Beach Villas stand on the beachfront, each with a private garden and a heated plunge pool, and the two-bedroom VIP Beach Villa has its own heated pool and a living room.
Wellness centers on the SO SPA, with hammams and open-air cold and warm pools, plus a gym and an outdoor tennis court. Families can choose the SO Family Suite or the SO Family Beach Villa, and the resort has a kids' club.
Best for: couples who want a design-led beach resort with a strong spa, and families looking for a beachfront villa with its own heated plunge pool.
The north-west and west suit sunset lovers and winter trips, the north suits travelers who want bars and restaurants nearby, and the east and south suit those who want space. Turtle Bay and Balaclava, on the north-west coast, hold three hotels on this page: The Oberoi Beach Resort, Mauritius, InterContinental Mauritius Resort Balaclava Fort and The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa, Mauritius. This coast faces west, toward the sunset.
The tourism board calls the north the liveliest part of Mauritius, with Grand Baie at its center. LUX* Grand Baie Resort & Residences and Ocean V Hotel both put their pools on the roof there. Paradise Cove Boutique Hotel sits farther north at Anse la Raie, near Cap Malheureux, away from the busy town center.
On the west coast, Flic en Flac has a long beach and a lively village with shops and restaurants. Sofitel Mauritius L'Imperial Resort & Spa, Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa and Anelia Resort & Spa all face the sunset from this shore.
The east coast has long white beaches, a wide lagoon with islets and a cooling breeze for most of the year. Constance Prince Maurice sits on a private peninsula at Poste de Flacq, and Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita looks across the lagoon from Beau Champ. In the far south, SO/ Sofitel Mauritius stands on a quiet beach at Bel Ombre, on a rugged coast of volcanic rock and fishing villages.
For a first visit, our pick is the north-west and the Oberoi, which pairs a west-facing bay with separate pools for families and for adults.
The best pool weather runs from September to December and again in April and May, when the air is warm and the wettest weeks are either over or still ahead. According to the Mauritius Meteorological Services, summer runs from November to April and is warm and humid, while winter, from June to September, is cooler and drier. January and February are the hottest months, with daytime highs around 29 C (84 F). February and March bring the most rain, and October is the driest month.
Mauritius works all year, and the tourism board puts winter daytime temperatures on the coast at 22-28 C (72-82 F). Winter is simply when your choice of coast matters most.
The west is the warmest part of the island through the whole winter. In its winter 2026 outlook, the meteorological service expected daytime highs of about 27 C (81 F) in the west during the peak winter months. The east was expected to stay near 24 C (75 F). The trade winds blow mainly from the east-south-east, so east coast pools feel cooler and windier. Heavy swells can also reach the southern and western shores in winter, although the reef shelters most lagoons.
Three hotels on this page say on their own sites that they heat pools in winter. Sofitel L'Imperial heats Le Flamboyant, its infinity pool, the InterContinental heats both of its infinity pools, and SO/ Sofitel heats its main pool. For the other hotels, ask about pool temperature before a winter stay.
Book September to December for warm, mostly dry pool days; between June and September, stay on the west or north-west coast.
Most hotels on this page have at least one infinity pool open to all guests; the exceptions are pools kept for adults and pools that come with a villa. The InterContinental has two infinity pools facing the Indian Ocean, and the resort's pools page notes a children's pool next to the main one. Anelia also has two ocean-view infinity pools, plus two pools for children.
Prince Maurice and SO/ Sofitel keep their main infinity pool beside the beach, and Paradise Cove's overlooks the lagoon from the hotel's small peninsula.
Four Seasons works differently. Every villa and residence has its own private pool, and only some residence categories list an infinity pool, so the shared pools matter less there.
Our pick for a shared pool with a view is the InterContinental, because two infinity pools give couples and families room to spread out.
Adults have two options in Mauritius: a hotel that takes only adults, or a family resort that keeps one pool for grown-ups. Ocean V Hotel, in the Grand Baie area, is adults-only for guests aged 16 and over, according to the hotel's own page. Paradise Cove is also adults-only. Its own site gives no minimum age, but specialist travel agents list 18 and over, so confirm it if you travel with older teens.
Family resorts are the other route. At the Oberoi, the resort's pool rules keep the Turtle Bay pool for adult guests, while the On The Rocks pool is open to everyone. Sofitel L'Imperial keeps Le Flamboyant, its infinity pool and bar, for adults in the warmer months. The hotel's pool page says children may use it only in winter, when it is heated. The Westin and Hilton also list a pool reserved for adults, alongside a pool for families. None of these four resorts publishes a minimum age for its adult pool, so ask if you travel with teenagers.
Our pick for couples who want no children anywhere on the property is Ocean V, where the 16+ rule covers the whole hotel. If you prefer a large resort with a quiet adult pool, choose the Oberoi.
Choose a rooftop pool for a social scene with a town nearby, and a beachfront pool for long, quiet days between the water and the sand. At LUX* Grand Baie, the rooftop, Bisou, combines an infinity pool, a restaurant and a bar above the lagoon. It is reserved for adults during the day. Ocean V's rooftop works on a smaller scale, with an infinity pool, a restaurant and a lounge above the calm water of Grand Baie.
Most other hotels on this page keep their infinity pools at beach level. Prince Maurice, the InterContinental, Anelia and Hilton all set theirs close to the sand, facing the ocean. That suits travelers who like to swim in the lagoon and the pool on the same day. These pools are calmer in the evening than a rooftop bar, and the beach is always a few steps away.
Our pick for friends who want a lively rooftop is LUX* Grand Baie; for a quiet beachfront pool, we would choose Prince Maurice.
Families do best at Anelia or Four Seasons, couples at Prince Maurice or Paradise Cove, and groups of friends at LUX* Grand Baie. For families, Anelia has two children's pools and the InterContinental and the Westin each list one. Sofitel L'Imperial describes its family pool as one of the largest on the island. Four Seasons adds two-bedroom villas and a teens club, which suits families with older children.
Couples have the widest choice. Prince Maurice publishes honeymoon experiences on its private peninsula, including sunset drinks at a floating bar, and Paradise Cove offers the quiet of the island's northern tip. Groups of friends get the most from the north, where Grand Baie has beach clubs, bars and dozens of restaurants. The rooftop pool at LUX* Grand Baie also has its own bar.
Our pick for families is Four Seasons if the budget allows and Anelia if it does not; for a honeymoon, we would choose Prince Maurice.
A private pool villa is worth it when privacy matters more than the shared view, and Four Seasons is the hotel on this page where it is standard. Every villa and residence there has its own garden and pool, and the resort reopened in 2025 after a renovation that redesigned its pool villas. Only some residence categories list an infinity pool, so read the room description before you book.
Elsewhere, the private pool is an upgrade. The Oberoi's Royal and Presidential villas have their own pools, Prince Maurice offers a Beach Villa with a Private Pool, and LUX* Grand Baie has rooms with private pools. At SO/ Sofitel, the Beach Villas add sea views and a plunge pool.
Our pick for a pool villa is Four Seasons, because the private pool comes with every category.
Yes, and the clearest option is LUX* Grand Baie, which has sold a day package in 2026. That offer has an end date, so check that a new one is on sale. According to the resort's day package page, it includes the Bisou rooftop infinity pool and the beach, a three-course lunch, drinks and spa access. Bisou is for adults only during the day, so children aged 6 to 11, who pay half, use the beach and the other pools instead.
Be careful with day packages sold by local resellers. Many are priced for Mauritian citizens and residents and require an ID card or residence permit, so visitors pay the hotel's public rate instead. For the other hotels on this page, ask directly; a stay is the reliable way to use their pools.
Our pick for a day visit is LUX* Grand Baie, because the rooftop pool, lunch and drinks come in one package.
Most hotels on this page start at roughly 200 to 550 USD a night in 2026, and the top resorts with pool villas cost more. Anelia and SO/ Sofitel sit at the lower end of the list, while Four Seasons, the Oberoi and Prince Maurice sit at the top. The cards show the current starting rate for each hotel.
On top of the room rate, every guest aged 12 or over pays a tourist fee of 3 euros per night. The fee was introduced in 2025 and is paid to the hotel. Check whether your booked rate already includes it.
Our pick for value is Anelia, which pairs two ocean-view infinity pools with one of the lowest starting rates on this page.
