Infinity pool hotels in Cancún
Rooftop and beachfront infinity pools in the Hotel Zone and Costa Mujeres, compared by access.
Cancún gives you two different bases for an infinity pool stay. The Hotel Zone is a narrow strip of sand between the Caribbean Sea and Nichupté Lagoon, lined with high-rise resorts, restaurants and nightlife. Costa Mujeres, north of Cancún, is a newer coast of large resorts facing the island of Isla Mujeres, with a much quieter atmosphere.
Most resorts here sell their stays as all-inclusive, and several are reserved for adults, with age rules that vary by resort. The pools range from beachfront infinity pools a few steps from the sand to rooftop pools with wide sea views. At some resorts, the best pool comes only with a certain tower, club level or room category.
Below, we compare the two coasts, the pool settings and who can use each pool.

Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancun is an adults-only, all-inclusive infinity pool hotel in Cancún, set on the beach in the Hotel Zone with the Nichupté Lagoon behind it. Its main pool is a shared infinity pool for all guests, laid out at beach level so the edge faces the Caribbean Sea. All pools are heated to about 30 C (86 F) in winter. Le Blanc does not sell day passes (checked in 2026), so the pools are for hotel guests only.
Rooms and suites all belong to the Royale categories and come with butler service, a liquor dispenser with premium brands and BVLGARI bath products. Deluxe rooms look over the lagoon or the ocean, and the Royale Walk Out Suites open directly onto the pool area. The Honeymoon Suite and the Presidential suites are oceanfront, and the largest Presidential Suite has two bedrooms.
Six restaurants are included in the stay, among them Lumière for French cuisine, Yama for Japanese dishes and Pure for lighter, healthy food; a smart-casual dress code applies at dinner. The Aura spa has a hydrotherapy circuit that is included in the all-inclusive plan, and the fitness program adds paddleboard yoga and aqua spinning. Best for: couples looking for a quiet, adults-only beach stay, and wellness-focused travelers.

Opened in 2026, The St. Regis Costa Mujeres Resort sits on the beach in Costa Mujeres, north of Cancún, between the Caribbean Sea and a protected mangrove reserve. Its oceanfront infinity pool runs along the front of the resort at ground level, between the buildings and the sand, with an open edge facing the sea. The resort lists it as its adult pool, without a published minimum age, and children have a separate kids' pool. The pools are for hotel guests, with cabanas and a pool bar on the deck.
All 163 rooms and suites have private terraces, with the sun rising over the sea and setting behind the mangroves of Isla Blanca. The architecture firm Sordo Madaleno designed the buildings in stone, wood and metal, with Mayan legends as the theme. Some suites add a private pool on the terrace, among them the oceanfront Caroline Astor Suite. Guests have the brand's signature butler service.
Dining includes Costa Coral, a Mexican restaurant open for breakfast and dinner, Fish Market for Caribbean seafood and Palmare Grill for Mexican coastal cooking. The St. Regis Spa has a thermal circuit with steam and hydrotherapy and 16 treatment suites. Families get a complimentary Kids Club with its own play area.
Best for: couples who want a quiet, newly opened infinity pool hotel in Cancún, and multigenerational families who will use the Kids Club.
Infinity pools at NIZUC Resort & Spa come in two forms. One shared infinity pool is at Terra Nostra, the Italian restaurant overlooking the mangroves and the canal, where it sits beside a large outdoor deck. Guests also have a main pool with a pool bar, steps from NIZUC Beach and Reef Beach, and a quiet adult pool. Private infinity pools come with the private villas, which sit in their own tropical gardens, and with the Master Suites, whose terraces have a large infinity pool with wide views of the Caribbean Sea.
This infinity pool hotel in Cancún sits in the secluded enclave of Punta Nizuc, at the southern end of the Hotel Zone, among protected mangroves and white sand beaches. Its 274 suites and villas are split into three areas. The 44 Ocean Suites near the lobby are reserved for guests over 16. The Residence Suites are aimed at families, and several categories there add a terrace plunge pool facing the ocean or the mangrove preserve. The villas take adults or families with children older than five.
NIZUC Spa by ESPA, which the resort presents as the first ESPA-branded spa in the Mexican Caribbean, has a hydrotherapy circuit with a vitality pool, sauna and steam room, and its facilities are open to guests over 16. Six restaurants range from contemporary Mexican cuisine at Ramona to Peruvian seafood at Ni and Asian dishes at Indochine. The resort holds one MICHELIN Key and a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star rating for 2026. Activities include snorkeling off NIZUC Beach, kayaking, paddle boarding and tennis, and Winik's Kids Club looks after younger guests.
Best for: couples who want a private infinity pool in a villa or Master Suite, and families looking for a quiet beach resort with a kids' club.
With three infinity pools facing the Caribbean Sea, Hyatt Ziva Cancun is a large all-inclusive infinity pool hotel in Cancún, set on Punta Cancún in the Hotel Zone. The main infinity pool runs along the beach and is shared by all guests, with a swim-up bar inside the water. A rooftop infinity pool with its own bar, Punta Vista, is reserved for guests of Turquoize, the resort's adults-only tower for ages 18 and older. In 2026 the resort's FAQ also listed day passes for visitors, subject to occupancy and arranged directly with the resort.
The resort has 547 suites, with balconies on the upper floors and terraces or swim-up access on the ground floor. Swim-up rooms in the Pyramid building open onto a semi-private pool and are for guests 13 and older. Turquoize is an all-beachfront tower: its suites have a balcony with a private hot tub, and the Sky Swim-Up suites also open onto a semi-private infinity pool overlooking the sea.
Families are a core audience here. The KidZ Club takes children aged 4 to 12 for supervised pool games and a mini water park, teens have their own lounge, and babysitting can be booked at extra cost. Meals, drinks and most on-site activities are included in the rate, while some experiences carry a fee or need a reservation. Dining runs from tacos and ceviche on the beach to a French brasserie and an in-house microbrewery, and Zen Spa has a hydrotherapy circuit facing the Caribbean Sea.
Best for: families who want kids' and teen clubs at a beachfront resort, and couples who book the 18+ Turquoize tower.

Hotel Mousai Cancun keeps its signature pool on the top floor. The rooftop infinity pool belongs to The Rooftop, the resort's bar and restaurant, with Bali beds along the deck and wide views of the Caribbean Sea. This beachfront infinity pool hotel in Cancún sits in Costa Mujeres, north of the city, and is adults-only: every guest must be 18 or older to stay at or enter the resort. A second pool lies at beach level, with its own pool bar.
During the day, the rooftop serves gourmet bites and cocktails by the water, and the bar stays open late into the night. Evenings bring DJs, live music and performances, so the top floor becomes the resort's social center after sunset. Down at the beach, pool butlers bring drinks to the loungers, and the staff clean sargassum from the sand every day.
All rooms are suites, each with a partial or front ocean view. Several categories, including the Mousai Jacuzzi Suite, the Corner Suites and the Ultra Suites, have a private terrace with an outdoor jacuzzi, and iPads control the curtains and music.
The all-inclusive plan covers NOI Italian restaurant, the rooftop and the bars, as well as the restaurants of its sister resorts, including Garza Blanca Cancun; selected culinary events and some premium drinks cost extra. The resort also publishes room-only rates. Spa Imagine has a hydrotherapy circuit with a whirlpool and a cold plunge pool, and all-inclusive guests get one hydrotherapy session per stay. Best for: couples and groups of adult friends who want a rooftop pool with a lively evening scene.

Access to the rooftop infinity pool at Atelier Playa Mujeres depends on the suite you book. The pool is on the fifth floor of Building 1, with wide views over the Caribbean Sea. By day it is reserved for guests of the INSPIRA Suites; at night the terrace becomes El Cielo Sky Bar, open to all guests. The resort is adults-only, with a minimum age of 16, and the guest who makes the reservation must be 18. Stays are sold only on an all-inclusive plan.
This infinity pool hotel in Cancún stands in Playa Mujeres, a private peninsula on Costa Mujeres north of the city, between the Caribbean Sea and the Chacmochuc Lagoon. The 18-hole Playa Mujeres golf course, designed by Greg Norman, surrounds the resort. All guests share the large Life & Vibe Pool, the quieter Relaxing Pool and the beach, where lounge chairs and Balinese beds stand in a separate section. INSPIRA guests also have an Ocean Front pool and a beach area of their own.
All 593 units are suites with marble and wood accents, facing the golf course, the gardens or the sea depending on the category. The INSPIRA Junior Suite Swim Out categories open onto a semi-private pool, and several INSPIRA categories, from the Junior Suite Ocean Front to the Master Suites, add an outdoor private plunge pool. The INSPIRA Rooftop Suite has its own rooftop terrace with a plunge pool and a pergola bed.
The all-inclusive plan covers more than 20 restaurants and bars across the resort. Private dinners, wines from the wine list and treatments at NUUP Spa, set among the mangroves, cost extra. Mexican art runs through the public spaces, with an Art Walk, a gallery and cultural events during the week. Best for: couples who plan to book an INSPIRA suite for the rooftop pool, and golfers who want the Greg Norman course next door.

Hyatt Zilara Cancun pairs two very different pools. Its beachfront infinity pool faces the Caribbean Sea, while a separate Olympic-size, 50 meter (164 foot) pool is meant for swimming laps. This adults-only, all-inclusive infinity pool hotel in Cancún stands between the Nichupté Lagoon and the Caribbean Sea in the Hotel Zone. Guests must be 18 or older.
The infinity pool is a large free-form pool with in-pool sunbeds, a swim-up bar and a pool lounge, and poolside cabanas are available for more shade and privacy. The renovation that Hyatt presented in 2026 added more shaded areas and new loungers around the pool and beach, plus a quieter beach zone set aside for guests.
The 310 rooms and suites were redesigned with natural textures and warm tones. Swim-up suites open directly onto a semi-private pool, and the ocean-view suites have private balconies. The Zen Spa has 11 treatment rooms, hydrotherapy journeys and an oceanfront gazebo for outdoor treatments, and the Sky Gym adds a heated two-lane pool and a Pilates room. Meals and drinks are included at the restaurants and bars, while the 14-seat Chef's Plate tasting menu costs extra. Evenings bring live music and shows. Best for: couples who want an adults-only all-inclusive on the beach, and keen swimmers who want a full-length lap pool.

Unlimited-Luxury, the Secrets all-inclusive plan, covers a la carte restaurants with no reservations required, top-shelf drinks, pool and beach wait service and round-the-clock room service, with no wristbands. Evenings bring live entertainment, and the Secrets Spa has a hydrotherapy circuit with a sauna and steam room. The resort has received the AAA Five Diamond award.
Best for: couples and honeymooners who want an all-inclusive stay on a quiet beach, away from the Hotel Zone.

The infinity pool at Garza Blanca Resort & Spa Cancun is on The Rooftop, an adults-only terrace for guests 18 and older, with its edge open toward the Caribbean Sea. Guests lounge there by day and come back for cocktails and small gourmet plates at sunset. Children and families use the long pools at ground level, near the beach, and the resort says several of its pools are heated. The resort does not sell day passes (checked in 2026), so every pool is for hotel guests only.
Opened in 2020, this infinity pool hotel in Cancún sits on the beach in Costa Mujeres, north of Cancún, in a quieter setting than the Hotel Zone. All of the roughly 450 units are suites or residences, sold in ocean view and swim-up categories. The swim-up suites come in junior, one-bedroom and two-bedroom sizes, each with a terrace that opens onto a pool; no suite has a private pool. The three- and four-bedroom residences add ocean views, large terraces and full kitchens.
Stays are sold either all-inclusive or on a European plan. Dining centers on four gourmet restaurants, including Bocados Steak House and DAO for Chinese cuisine, plus a food hall and two bars. Spa Imagine has 16 treatment rooms and a hydrotherapy circuit with a sauna, a cold plunge pool and a vitality pool. For children there is a kids' club, a family program and a floating aqua park. Best for: families who want a kids' club and roomy suites, and groups of friends sharing a multi-bedroom suite or residence.

Set on the beach in the middle of the Hotel Zone, JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa has its main pool area at ground level between the tower and the Caribbean Sea. The family freeform pool has an infinity edge and is open to all guests; it is heated and includes a children's pool. A second heated freeform pool is reserved for adults and has a swim-up bar. Cabanas on the beach and by the pool can be reserved for a daily fee.
Rooms have private balconies, and the ocean view rooms and the oceanfront suites look out over the Caribbean. Club 91, the club level on the 12th and 14th floors, adds a private lounge on the 14th floor.
Sens-yah Spa, a Mayan-inspired spa awarded Four Stars by Forbes Travel Guide, covers about 3,250 square meters (35,000 square feet). It includes an indoor spa pool for guests 18 and older, steam rooms and hot tubs, and the resort also offers sunrise yoga and sound healing sessions. Among the restaurants are Gustino Italian Grill, Bravio for Spanish cuisine and BeachWalk for lunch between the pool and the beach, while JW Lobby Bar has a terrace overlooking the resort and the sea.
Best for: families looking for an infinity pool hotel in Cancún with a children's pool, and couples who plan their days around the spa.

On Playa Delfines in the Hotel Zone, Iberostar Selection Cancún is an all-inclusive beachfront resort with ten pools. Among them is a shared infinity pool for all hotel guests, set by the beach with its open edge facing the Caribbean Sea and daybeds along the deck. The others are listed as activity, water park, children's and quiet pools. Visitors can also buy an all-inclusive day pass on Iberostar's own site (checked in 2026). It covers three outdoor pools, the beach, and food and drinks, and children are welcome.
Many rooms and suites have ocean views. The Premium Ocean View with Terrace & Jacuzzi adds a private whirlpool on the terrace, with views of the sea and the Nichupté Lagoon. The Villa Ocean Front Swim Out opens from the terrace into a semi-private pool shared with the neighboring villas, with loungers set in the water facing the beach. Other villa categories share a pool area reserved for villa guests.
The all-inclusive plan includes a buffet, five specialty restaurants and a beach lounge; most need no reservation, but the teppanyaki restaurant does. Spa Sensations has a hydrotherapy circuit. The 18-hole golf course, designed by Isao Aoki, is inside the resort complex and is charged separately. Star Camp runs activities for children aged 4 to 15, and the children's pool has a pirate ship with slides. The hotel was rated AAA Four Diamond in 2025.
Best for: golfers who want a course on site, and families looking for an all-inclusive infinity pool hotel in Cancún with a kids' club.

Breathless Cancun Soul Resort & Spa rises between the Caribbean Sea and the Nichupté Lagoon in the Hotel Zone, with direct access to Playa Langosta. Its two towers each have a rooftop infinity pool. The one open to all guests has an edge facing the Caribbean and hosts DJ sets. The second is reserved for guests in the club-level xhale club suites, with ocean and Cancún skyline views, a pool concierge and bar service. A third outdoor pool completes the resort.
This is an adults-only, all-inclusive infinity pool hotel in Cancún. Hyatt and Hilton both describe it as adults-only, but neither publishes a minimum age. Meals, drinks and 24-hour room service are included. All 429 suites have a private balcony and look over either the lagoon or the sea, so book an ocean-view category if the Caribbean view matters. The xhale club suites add a hot tub on the balcony and a private lounge. The two-story spa has pool and ocean views.
In 2026 the resort is moving from Hyatt to Hilton and is scheduled to become Amàre Cancun Adults Only All-Inclusive Resort, Curio by Hilton, before the end of the year. Renovation work is underway in some guest areas, and some venues may be moved during a stay. Best for: couples who want an adults-only, all-inclusive stay with DJ sets by a rooftop infinity pool.
Choose the Hotel Zone if you want restaurants and nightlife close by, and Costa Mujeres if you want a newer resort on a quieter coast. The Hotel Zone is a barrier island about 22 km (14 miles) long, with the Caribbean Sea on one side and Nichupté Lagoon on the other. Kukulcán Boulevard is its only main road, and hotels give their address as a kilometer marker along it.
Most hotels on this page are in the Hotel Zone. Breathless Cancun Soul Resort & Spa sits on the north arm, which faces Bahía de Mujeres rather than the open Caribbean. Hyatt Ziva Cancun stands at Punta Cancún, the corner of the strip, close to the party center around km 9. Heading south along the Caribbean side, you reach Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancun, Hyatt Zilara Cancun, JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa and Iberostar Selection Cancun. NIZUC Resort & Spa closes the strip at Punta Nizuc, its southern tip.
Costa Mujeres is the mainland coast north of Cancún that faces the island of Isla Mujeres. The land belongs to Isla Mujeres municipality, but the resorts are sold as Cancún, and the atmosphere is much quieter than in the Hotel Zone. Playa Mujeres, on the same coast, is a private development with a golf course and a marina. The St. Regis Costa Mujeres Resort, Cancun, Garza Blanca Resort & Spa Cancun, Hotel Mousai Cancun, Atelier Playa Mujeres and Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres are all on this coast. The trade-off is distance: a night at Punta Cancún or in downtown Cancún becomes a planned trip by car.
Our pick for a first visit without children is Le Blanc, close to Punta Cancún but on the Caribbean side of the strip. For a new resort on the quieter coast, we would choose St. Regis Costa Mujeres, which opened in 2026.
At several resorts on this page, the infinity pool in the photos is tied to a tower, a room category or an age rule. Read the pool rules before you choose a room. Hyatt Ziva's main infinity pool runs along the beach and is open to all guests. Its rooftop infinity pool belongs to Turquoize, the resort's adults-only tower for guests 18 and older, and it is reserved for guests staying in that tower. At St. Regis Costa Mujeres, the oceanfront infinity pool is the one Marriott lists as the Adult-Only Pool, so children use the separate kids' pool.
Atelier Playa Mujeres runs its fifth-floor rooftop infinity pool as a lounge for INSPIRA Suites guests during the day. At night it turns into El Cielo Sky Bar, open to all guests. NIZUC has a shared infinity pool by Terra Nostra, its Italian restaurant, while the villas and Master Suites come with private infinity pools. Several other suites have a plunge pool. Breathless Cancun Soul has two rooftop infinity pools, one open to all guests and one kept for club-level guests. Check the club terms once the resort becomes Amàre Cancun, Curio by Hilton, later in 2026.
Every guest can use the infinity pool at Le Blanc, Mousai, JW Marriott, Iberostar Selection and Hyatt Zilara. That makes them the simpler choice if you do not want to pay for a higher category or a specific tower. Secrets Playa Blanca lists two large infinity pools for its guests, and its Preferred Club suites add exclusive access to an infinity pool.
If the rooftop view is the reason for your trip, our pick is a Turquoize room at Hyatt Ziva, because the tower's rooftop infinity pool is shared only with other guests of that tower.
Choose a rooftop infinity pool for a wider view over the sea, and a beachfront one if you want the sand a few steps from the water. Costa Mujeres has most of the rooftop infinity pools on this page. Mousai's infinity pool is on the roof and open to every guest. Garza Blanca pairs its oceanfront rooftop infinity pool with a bar and Caribbean views, but the rooftop admits guests from 18. In the Hotel Zone, the rooftop infinity pools belong to Breathless Cancun Soul and to Hyatt Ziva's Turquoize tower.
Several resorts put their infinity pool right by the beach instead. Hyatt Ziva's main infinity pool spans the beach at Punta Cancún, and Secrets Playa Blanca has two oceanfront infinity pools. St. Regis Costa Mujeres runs its oceanfront infinity pool as the resort's adult pool. Hyatt Zilara's beachfront infinity pool was updated in a full renovation completed in 2026. On the Caribbean side of the Hotel Zone and in Costa Mujeres the sea lies to the east, so these pools catch the sunrise rather than the sunset.
Our pick for a rooftop is Mousai, because its rooftop infinity pool comes with every room rather than a single category. For a pool at the edge of the sand, we would choose Hyatt Zilara, with its pool and beach areas renovated in 2026. Both admit only guests 18 and older, so families should look at Hyatt Ziva's main pool on the beach.
Every adults-only resort on this page suits couples, and the age rules differ. Mousai admits guests 18 and older, Hyatt Zilara has the same age rule, and Atelier Playa Mujeres admits guests from 16. Le Blanc, Secrets Playa Blanca and Breathless Cancun Soul are also sold as adults-only, with Breathless Cancun Soul due to become Amàre Cancun, Curio by Hilton, in 2026.
The real difference between them is mood and location. Le Blanc and Hyatt Zilara are in the Hotel Zone, a short ride from the restaurants of Punta Cancún. Atelier Playa Mujeres adds a rooftop sky bar that opens to all guests at night. Secrets Playa Blanca sits on a long, remote stretch of white sand in Costa Mujeres, and Mousai pairs its rooftop pool with the quiet of the same coast.
Mixed-age resorts can work for couples too. St. Regis Costa Mujeres keeps its oceanfront infinity pool for adults, and Hyatt Ziva's Turquoize tower keeps its rooftop pool for its own guests aged 18 and over.
Our pick for couples is Secrets Playa Blanca: its two large oceanfront infinity pools sit by a remote beach, and the Costa Mujeres setting keeps evenings calm.
Families have the widest choice at Hyatt Ziva, Garza Blanca and Iberostar Selection, which all plan for children. Iberostar Selection has about ten pool options, including an infinity pool, a water park and children's pools. St. Regis Costa Mujeres runs a Kids Club and a kids' pool, although its infinity pool is for adults.
Garza Blanca runs a kids' club and a family program, but its rooftop infinity pool is for guests 18 and older, which gives parents a space of their own. JW Marriott, on the long Caribbean beach south of Punta Cancún, puts its infinity edge on the family pool, so the whole group can share it.
Groups of friends want a social pool scene and nightlife within reach. Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara are both close to the Punta Cancún party center. Breathless Cancun Soul runs DJ sets by its rooftop infinity pool, but that program may change after its rebrand to Amàre in 2026.
Our pick for families is Hyatt Ziva, for a main infinity pool on the beach that the whole family can use. For a group of friends aged 18 and over, we would choose Hyatt Zilara, a short ride from the party center.
A private infinity pool is worth it if you want the view without sharing it, and at NIZUC it comes only with the villas and the Master Suites. Each Master Suite opens onto a terrace with a large infinity pool facing the ocean, and the private villas come with infinity pools too. Several other suites have a plunge pool on the terrace instead. St. Regis Costa Mujeres also sells suites with private pools.
For scale, nightly rates at the resorts on this page start at around 330 USD in 2026, on the cheapest dates. Several start between about 400 and 600 USD, and the most expensive start above 700 USD a night, before any suite or villa upgrade.
There is a middle option. INSPIRA Suites at Atelier Playa Mujeres come with daytime access to a rooftop infinity pool that only other INSPIRA guests can use, and some INSPIRA categories add a private pool. That gives you a quiet pool with a sea view for a smaller step up from a standard room.
Our pick for a private pool is NIZUC in a Master Suite or villa. For a smaller step up, choose an INSPIRA Suite at Atelier Playa Mujeres.
Yes, at Iberostar Selection Cancun, which sells an all-inclusive day pass, and at Hyatt Ziva Cancun, whose FAQ offers day passes subject to occupancy. At the other resorts on this page, plan on booking a room unless the resort confirms a pass. The resort's day pass covers three outdoor pools, the beach with loungers on a first-come basis, and food and drinks, and children can join. Ask whether the infinity pool is one of the three before you buy.
The beach itself is open to everyone under Mexican law, but the pools, loungers and bars of a resort stay reserved for its guests and pass holders.
Our pick for a day visit is Iberostar Selection, because you can buy its pass online in advance.
December to April is the best time: the weather is dry and mild, and it falls outside hurricane season. The dry season runs roughly from November to May. From December to early March, daytime highs stay below 28 C (82 F), which makes long afternoons by the pool comfortable.
Summer brings the warmest water, near 29 C (84 F) by September. It also brings the heat, with average highs above 31 C (88 F) from mid-June to late September. The wetter season lasts from late May to early November, and September has the most rainy days, about 14. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30.
Sargassum is the other warm-season factor. In 2026 the seaweed reached the coast in late spring, when nearly half of the beaches monitored by the state were on red alert. It was still present on most of them at the end of summer. The Quintana Roo government publishes a daily sargassum traffic light for its beaches. When seaweed covers the sand, the pool becomes the main place to swim, so a strong pool matters more in summer than in winter.
Book December to April for dry, mild pool days. In summer, choose a resort for its pool and check the state's sargassum traffic light a few days before you travel.
