Infinity pool hotels in Jamaica
Beachfront, rainforest and mountain infinity pools across Jamaica, compared by area, access and season
Choosing an infinity pool hotel in Jamaica starts with the setting. Around Montego Bay, Negril and Ocho Rios, the pool usually sits next to the sand at a beach resort. In the east, small hotels around Port Antonio and an estate high in the Blue Mountains trade the beach for views over rainforest, valley and sea.
The access rules differ more than the views. At most hotels here the infinity pool is shared by every guest, but at one resort it comes only with a suite, and two others sell overwater villas or balcony suites with a private infinity pool. Three resorts admit only guests aged 18 and over.
December to April, the dry season, is the safest time for pool days. Riu Palace Jamaica will reopen after a renovation on December 12, 2026; the rest are open again after Hurricane Melissa.

From: the lowest nightly rate seen for upcoming dates, for the cheapest room, which is not always the category with the infinity pool; taxes and fees included, except a local tourist tax collected at the hotel where one applies; your dates may differ. Rating: the guest review score on Booking.com, out of 10.
The order weighs the pool first, a shared signature infinity pool ahead of pools reserved for certain rooms, then its setting and view, and after that the hotel itself: brand, distinctions, guest score and price.
The saltwater infinity pool at Eclipse, the beachfront wing of Half Moon, is shared by all hotel guests and looks out over the Caribbean Sea. Eclipse also has its own private beach with a natural swimming cove. The resort covers 400 acres of gardens and beaches at Rose Hall, on the crescent-shaped bay where it opened in 1954.
Eclipse has 57 rooms and suites, each with sea views and a private balcony or patio. The Estate Ocean Suites sit in timbered houses among tropical gardens and can connect up to four bedrooms. The Villas at Half Moon are six- and seven-bedroom residences, each with a private pool and its own cook, housekeeper and butler. Half Moon welcomes guests of all ages.
Eclipse and the Villas are open; Founders Cove, the resort's legacy wing, is scheduled to reopen later in 2026. Fern Tree, a Salamander Spa, has treatment rooms in overwater bungalows. The estate also has a golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and an equestrian center where riders can swim with their horses in the sea.
Best for: large families or groups sharing a staffed villa, and active travelers who want golf and horseback rides on the beach.
The Trident Hotel is a small all-villa hotel in Port Antonio, on the quiet northeast coast of Jamaica, set between a private beach and a jungle backdrop. Its oceanfront infinity pool is shared by all guests, and its edge seems to merge with the coastline. The open-air Veranda restaurant sits beside it and overlooks the water.
The villas have mid-century modern interiors, with artwork and decor inspired by the 1950s and 1960s, and each opens onto a private terrace. For a pool of your own, book a Junior, Deluxe, Premium or Two Bedroom Villa, or the Combo Villa Two or Combo Villa Three: these come with a private plunge pool.
The private beach is used for swimming, kayaking and snorkeling, with a water sports guide, a beach bar and a supervised children's area. In the evening, dinner moves to Mike's Supper Club, a speakeasy-style lounge with live jazz after the meal. The Trident Spa also offers treatments in the villas.
Best for: couples who want a quiet villa stay with a private plunge pool, and travelers who like mid-century design.
Round Hill's infinity pool sits on the waterfront in Montego Bay, its edge facing the Caribbean Sea. It is shared by all guests of the resort, and the Pool Bar beside it serves cocktails and light bites. A calm private beach lies in a sheltered cove on the same gated peninsula.
Rooms in the main Pineapple House have sea views and interiors designed by Ralph Lauren. On the hillside, each One-Bedroom Suite has an outdoor private plunge pool. The 27 villas have two to six bedrooms, and every villa comes with a cook, a housekeeper and a gardener; the Signature and Estate Villas all have their own pools.
The spa occupies a restored 18th-century house above the sea. Round Hill is not all-inclusive, though half-board and full-board plans are available, and two kids' clubs look after children aged 3 to 12.
Best for: honeymooners who want a suite with its own plunge pool, and families or groups booking a staffed villa.
Geejam is a small hotel on six acres of tropical rainforest in San San, Port Antonio, on land that runs from the foothills of the Blue Mountains to the Caribbean Sea. Its infinity pool is part of the Bushbar, the hotel's restaurant and bar, looks out over the forest to the sea and is open to all hotel guests.
The Bushbar serves Jamaican fusion dishes and cocktails and has a DJ booth in a treehouse, so the pool is a place for food and music as much as for a quiet swim. The hotel was created by two music industry veterans, and many of its celebrity and artist guests have recorded in the on-site studio. For the sea, the hotel's private beach lies in Geejam Bay, a natural cove with cabanas, snorkeling and kayaks.
The 12 Rumba Rooms sit high above the sea, each with a balcony, ocean and forest views and a freestanding bathtub. The treetop cabins in the rainforest each have a private veranda. Families with children are welcome.
Best for: music lovers and couples who want a small rainforest hotel above the sea.

Princess Senses The Mangrove is an all-inclusive resort on the beach at Green Island, in Hanover, and it is adults-only: guests must be 18 or over. Its main infinity pool sits just behind the sand, with the edge facing the Caribbean Sea, and it is shared by all guests. Visitors can also buy a day or night pass.
Private infinity pools come with the overwater villas: the Overwater Villa with Infinity Pool and the Princess Overwater Villa with Infinity Pool. All 14 villas stand over the water, with a terrace on the sea and a bedroom with a partly glass floor. The other rooms are ocean-view suites with balconies or terraces, and the swim-out suites open onto a semi-private pool.
With more than 400 suites, a nightclub and an entertainment program day and night, this is a large and lively resort rather than a quiet hideaway. It opened in 2026 next to Princess Grand Jamaica, a family-friendly sister resort, and guests can use its facilities as well.
Best for: couples who want an adults-only beach resort with plenty to do, and honeymooners who can book an overwater villa.
Strawberry Hill is a small estate of cottages and villas high in Jamaica's Blue Mountains, at about 945 meters (3,100 feet) above sea level. Its infinity pool, shared by all hotel guests, sits on a hillside terrace. The open outer edge looks down the green valley to Kingston and the Caribbean Sea beyond.
The white, wood-framed cottages follow a Post-Plantation take on Colonial style by Jamaican architect Ann Hodges, linked by winding footpaths through the gardens. Rooms have four-poster beds and verandas angled toward the mountains or the city lights below. The One-Bedroom and Two-Bedroom Villas add wraparound verandas.
The rooms are cooled by mountain breezes, cross-ventilation and fans; there is no in-room air conditioning. The Studio Suites sit on the hillside and are reached by steps and inclines, so the hotel suggests another category for guests who need easy access.
Island Records founder Chris Blackwell bought the estate in 1974, and Bob Marley found refuge here in the mid-1970s. The wood-paneled bar displays photos of Island Records artists, and the veranda restaurant serves New Jamaican cooking. The spa has indoor-outdoor treatment rooms set into the mountainside. Best for: couples and travelers who prefer cool mountain air and city-to-sea views to a beach stay.

A chain of pools runs through Sandals Dunn's River, laid out to flow like the river the resort is named after. The main one is an infinity pool shared by all guests, set between the white hotel wings and the beach at Mammee Bay, in Ocho Rios. Its glass-faced edge sits flush with the water and faces the lawn and the sand. The resort is all-inclusive and adults-only, for guests aged 18 and over, and is designed for couples.
From the main pool, the view is mostly of the lawn, the palms and the resort buildings. For a wide ocean view, the Beachfront Skypool Suites sit high in the Tufa Terrace building, each with a private infinity pool and a soaking tub for two on the balcony. The Coyaba Sky Rondoval Villas have a private pool reached directly from the bedroom and a rooftop terrace, where couples can enjoy a stargazing picnic with a telescope and a constellation guide.
Meals and drinks at 12 restaurants and 9 bars, including a rum club, are part of the stay, and guests also have full use of the restaurants, bars and amenities at sister resort Sandals Ochi. Live music and parties around the pool keep the days and evenings lively.
Best for: couples who want a sociable all-inclusive stay, or a suite with its own infinity pool.

On the 5th-floor roof of S Hotel Montego Bay, the Sky Deck holds a rooftop infinity pool with a clear glass edge and open views over the bay and the Caribbean Sea, though its use may be reserved for adults. The deck around it doubles as a Champagne lounge at sunset, and a floating breakfast can be arranged in the pool in the morning. The main pool sits beside the beach, with cabanas and red umbrellas around it.
The all-inclusive hotel stands on Jimmy Cliff Boulevard, the Hip Strip, with direct access to Doctor's Cave Beach, where guests have loungers and a beach concierge. Visitors who are not staying can buy a day pass.
The view depends on the category: rooms face the sea or Jimmy Cliff Boulevard, while the Mini King rooms and suites face the exterior hallways and have no balcony. The Sky Suites look over the water from a furnished balcony. Below ground, the Irie Spa has plunge pools of varying temperatures that can be reserved for a bath session. This is a town hotel on a busy tourist street rather than a secluded resort, and some rooms look onto the road.
Best for: couples and friends who want a beach hotel in the middle of Montego Bay's nightlife.

Sandals Negril is an adults-only, all-inclusive resort for guests aged 18 and over, set right on the water on Seven Mile Beach. Its infinity pools are private: only the Bamboo Grove One-Bedroom Skypool Butler Suites, with or without a roof terrace, have one. Each SkyPool looks out to the ocean, on the third floor or, in the suites with a roof terrace, on the fourth, and these suites come with a personal butler; the third-floor ones add a suspended daybed.
The shared facilities include four pools and three whirlpools, plus two swim-up bars, and the Beachfront Swim-Up Suites open directly onto the lagoon pool. One more category has its own pool: the Palm Grove Honeymoon One Bedroom Butler Suite w/ Private Pool Sanctuary, with tropical garden views.
Meals, drinks and the in-room minibar are part of the stay, across eight restaurants and five bars. Water sports are included too, from scuba diving for certified divers and water skiing to kayaks and paddleboards. The resort is designed for couples, with fire pits on the grounds and entertainment by day and at night.
Best for: couples who want a private ocean-view pool, and divers or water-sports fans.

Riu Palace Jamaica is closed for a full renovation and is scheduled to reopen on December 12, 2026, with renovated rooms and redecorated restaurants and outdoor areas. Its three infinity pools, shared by all guests, look out over the Caribbean Sea, with loungers set in the water. Service at the poolside bar is part of the 24-hour all-inclusive plan.
The resort is adults-only, with no minimum age published, and is one of three RIU hotels on Mahoe Bay, in Ironshore, Montego Bay. Guests can also use the facilities of the neighboring Riu Montego Bay and Riu Reggae, and the RIU Party nights are held at Riu Montego Bay. Rooms are junior suites and suites, each with a hydromassage bathtub, and the Elite Club rooms add premium services and their own restaurant.
Reviews from before the closure mentioned wear in some rooms, and the renovated hotel has no guest reviews yet. Best for: couples planning an all-inclusive beach stay after the reopening.
Before you book
Six questions that decide which of the hotels above fits your trip.
Choose Montego Bay or Negril for a beach resort, or Ocho Rios for a large all-inclusive on the north coast. For a small hotel and a slower pace, choose Port Antonio or the Blue Mountains. The Jamaica Tourist Board divides the island into six resort areas, and the hotels on this page sit in five of them.
Montego Bay, Jamaica's second city, has the widest choice at the top end. Half Moon is a large estate of gardens and beaches at Rose Hall, and Round Hill Hotel & Villas has a gated peninsula with its own calm beach. S Hotel Montego Bay is the town option, on the Hip Strip, a busy tourist street by the sea. Riu Palace Jamaica, a beachfront all-inclusive on Mahoe Bay in Ironshore, is closed for a full renovation and is scheduled to reopen on December 12, 2026.
Negril, the island's westernmost town, is known for its sunsets, a long white beach and the cliffs of its West End. Sandals Negril sits right on Seven Mile Beach. Princess Senses The Mangrove is up the coast at Green Island, in Hanover.
Ocho Rios, on the north coast, pairs beaches with rainforest. Sandals Dunn's River is on the beach at Mammee Bay and suits travelers who want restaurants, bars and several pools without leaving the resort.
Port Antonio, on the northeast coast, is the island's original tourist destination: a quiet port where green mountains slope down to coves and small beaches. The Trident Hotel is a small all-villa hotel by the sea, and Geejam sits in rainforest above the coast at San San. Higher up, Strawberry Hill is in the Blue Mountains above Kingston, at about 945 meters (3,100 feet).
Our pick for a quiet week is The Trident Hotel: a small all-villa hotel on the northeast coast, with an oceanfront infinity pool shared by its guests.
A beachfront pool keeps the sand a few steps away, while a hillside pool gives up the beach for a wider view over forest, valley or sea. The cliff hotels of Negril's West End stand on rock rather than sand; the pools on this page sit on the beach, on hillsides or on a roof instead.
Most of the beach pools face the water directly. At Half Moon, the saltwater infinity pool belongs to Eclipse, the beachfront wing, and looks out over the Caribbean. Round Hill's pool sits on the waterfront next to its Pool Bar, and Mangrove's main infinity pool lies just behind the sand. At Trident, the edge of the oceanfront pool seems to merge with the coastline. In town, S Hotel Montego Bay puts its infinity pool on the fifth-floor roof, with the bay seen through a clear glass edge.
Sandals Dunn's River is the exception among the beach resorts. Its main infinity pool has a glass-faced edge that looks toward the lawn and the beach, so the view from the water is mostly of palms and resort buildings.
The hillside pools trade the sand for the panorama. Geejam's pool is part of the Bushbar, the hotel's restaurant and bar, and looks over the forest to the sea. With a DJ booth in a treehouse nearby, it is as much a place for food and music as for a quiet swim. Strawberry Hill's terrace pool looks down a green valley to Kingston and the Caribbean.
Our pick for the view is Strawberry Hill, for that valley-to-sea panorama from the Blue Mountains. The compromise is the mountain itself: there is no beach, the rooms are cooled by breezes and fans instead of air conditioning, and some suites are reached by steps.
Decide on the age rule first: four resorts here are adults-only, and five other hotels welcome children of all ages. S Hotel Montego Bay also takes children above a minimum age, but its rooftop infinity pool may be reserved for adults. Mangrove,Sandals Dunn's River and Sandals Negril admit only guests aged 18 and over, and Riu Palace Jamaica is also adults-only.
Sandals designs all its resorts for couples, and every guest must be 18 or older. Mangrove follows the same age rule but feels different: it is a large resort with a nightclub and entertainment day and night, next to a family-friendly sister resort. A strict couples-only booking rule belongs to the Couples Resorts brand, which is outside this list.
Families have more choice. Round Hill runs two kids' clubs for children aged 3 to 12, and Trident has a supervised children's area on its beach. Half Moon welcomes guests of all ages across its estate, and Geejam welcomes families with children.
Our pick for families is Round Hill Hotel & Villas, for its two kids' clubs and its villas staffed with a cook and a housekeeper. It is not all-inclusive, though half-board and full-board plans are available.
At eight of the ten hotels on this page, the infinity pool is shared by every guest. At S Hotel Montego Bay, the rooftop infinity pool may be reserved for adults, and at Sandals Negril, the infinity pool comes only with a suite. There, only the Bamboo Grove One-Bedroom Skypool Butler Suites, with or without a roof terrace, have a private infinity SkyPool facing the ocean from an upper floor.
Private infinity pools come with certain rooms at three hotels: Mangrove, Sandals Dunn's River and Sandals Negril. At Mangrove, they belong to the overwater villas, which stand over the sea with partly glass floors. At Sandals Dunn's River, the Beachfront Skypool Suites have one on the balcony, high in the Tufa Terrace building, with the wide ocean view that the main pool does not give.
A plunge pool is the smaller private option. At Trident, the Junior, Deluxe, Premium and Two Bedroom Villas each have one. At Round Hill, each One-Bedroom Suite has an outdoor plunge pool, and the Signature and Estate Villas have pools of their own.
Visitors who are not staying can buy passes at two hotels: Mangrove sells day and night passes, and S Hotel Montego Bay sells day passes.
Our pick for a private infinity pool is Princess Senses The Mangrove, where the overwater villas put your own pool above the sea. The compromise is the setting around them: a large, lively, adults-only resort for guests aged 18 and over.
December to April is the best time for pool days: it is Jamaica's dry season, and it falls outside the hurricane season. The wet season runs from May to November, with rain mainly in May and October and thunderstorms in summer.
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June to November, and most storm activity falls between mid-August and mid-October. A trip in those weeks calls for flexible plans and a close look at the hotel's storm policy.
It is warm all year. On the coast at Montego Bay, daytime highs are around 30 C (86 F) in January. By August they reach about 33 C (91 F), eased by the trade winds and the sea breeze.
Book December to April for dry, settled pool days; between mid-August and mid-October, choose a flexible rate and check the storm policy before you pay.
Nine of the ten hotels on this page are open again after the storm. Riu Palace Jamaica is closed for a planned full renovation, not storm repairs, and is scheduled to reopen on December 12, 2026. Several large resorts around Montego Bay stay closed into 2027. Hurricane Melissa made landfall in western Jamaica in late 2025, and hotels have reopened in stages since then. The Jamaica Tourist Board's reopening list gives the status of each property and is updated on a rolling basis.
At Half Moon, Eclipse and the Villas reopened in 2026, while Founders Cove, the resort's legacy wing, returns in a later phase. The Eclipse infinity pool is in the reopened part of the estate.
Hyatt's all-inclusive resorts in Montego Bay and Rose Hall have suspended operations and are expected to resume in the first half of 2027.
Check the list before you book, and at a resort with several wings, ask the hotel which pools and restaurants are open on your dates.
