Infinity pool hotels in Phu Quoc
Beachfront, rooftop and villa infinity pools on Vietnam's largest island, compared by area and access.
Phu Quoc is Vietnam's largest island, in the Gulf of Thailand, and most of the infinity pools on this page sit at beach level facing west, toward the sunset. Long Beach on the west coast holds half of the hotels on this page, while Ong Lang, a little further north, is quieter and greener.
The south has a different character. Sunset Town at the southern tip is built up and busy, Ong Doi Cape has the sea on both sides, and Khem Beach on the southeast coast has large resorts with everything on site. There, the infinity edge is often in a private villa pool rather than a shared one.
The dry season, from November to April, brings calm seas and clear skies. Below, we compare the areas, the pool settings, the room you need to book and the resorts for couples and families.

From: the lowest nightly rate seen for upcoming dates, for the cheapest room, which is not always the category with the infinity pool; taxes and fees included, except a local tourist tax collected at the hotel where one applies; your dates may differ. Rating: the guest review score on Booking.com, out of 10.
The order weighs the pool first, a shared signature infinity pool ahead of pools reserved for certain rooms, then its setting and view, and after that the hotel itself: brand, distinctions, guest score and price.
Regent Phu Quoc is an all-suite and villa resort on Long Beach, on the west coast of the island, facing the Gulf of Thailand. Its rooftop infinity pool sits on level 10 of the Sky Wing, with an open view of the sea and the sunset. The pool is reserved for adults, and access to it is listed among the Regent Club privileges. Fu Bar, a gin-focused bar on the same terrace, is also for adults.
The resort's other pools include a main pool with a separate children's pool, a pool at the beach club and a second rooftop pool, at the health club on level 8. The Regent Kids Club runs activities for young guests, from arts and crafts to sports and ocean exploration.
Many suites and villas have a private pool. The King Sky Pool Villas, high in the Sky Wing, open onto a terrace with a private infinity pool facing the ocean, while the beach pool villas open straight onto the sand. The design mixes traditional Vietnamese and modern style, and the resort holds one MICHELIN Key.
Best for: couples who want sunset views from a rooftop pool, and families who want a beach resort with a kids' club.

The Vista Pool, an infinity pool at the heart of InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort, is open to all guests and looks toward the ocean. It suits both laps and slow swims. The resort has two other pools: the Oasis Pool near the beach, beside the Ombra pool bar, and the SPLASH! Pool with water slides for children. Club InterContinental guests also have a private pool at their lounge. Day passes for visitors are sold at the front desk.
The resort sits on the southern stretch of Long Beach (Bai Truong), on the west coast of the island, where the sun sets over the sea. Its 459 rooms, suites and villas follow a marine theme, from wave-shaped railings to glass balconies. Resort Classic rooms are in the resort wings, each with a private balcony and a deep soaking tub. Each 3-Bedroom Villa has a private pool, and the single 4-Bedroom Villa, directly on the beachfront, has two.
INK 360, on the 19th floor, bills itself as the highest rooftop bar in Phu Quoc and faces the sunset. HARNN Heritage Spa has treatment suites above a lotus lagoon. Families get the Planet Trekkers kids' club for ages 4 to 12 and a games room for teenagers. This is a large resort with a strong family and events side, not a quiet hideaway.
Best for: families with children aged 4 to 12, and couples who want a full-service beach resort with a sunset bar.
The beachfront infinity pool at Salinda Resort is salt-filtered and shared by all guests, open from early morning until early evening. It lies outdoors on Long Beach, on the west coast of Phu Quoc, with its open edge facing the sea, so the view from the water runs straight to the horizon and the sunset. Lunch and dinner are served by the pool and the sand.
Sustainability shapes this boutique resort: tropical gardens with more than 100 kinds of plants cover most of its land. The 121 rooms and villas all have private balconies or terraces, and each room category has its own wall art showing scenes of Vietnam. The main choice is the view. The sea-view rooms and suites look out over the ocean, the Premium Deluxe Sea rooms from the top floor. The Garden Villas and Pearl Suite Villas open onto private garden terraces, the Pearl Suite Villas steps from the beach and pool deck.
Breakfast, known at the resort as the Sparkling Breakfast, comes with sparkling wine and live piano music. The Qi'sense spa and a kids' club with daily activities complete the facilities.
Best for: couples looking for sunset views from a beachfront pool, and travelers who value an eco-minded resort with large gardens.
At Cassia Cottage, the beachfront infinity pool sits beside The Spice House restaurant at the sea end of the garden, and its edge lines up with the Gulf of Thailand behind a row of palms. It is shared by all guests. Two more pools complete the set, one reserved for adults and one for children, and day visitors can buy a pool ticket.
The resort began in 1999 as the seaside retreat of a Vietnamese spice-trading family and is still family-run. Low-rise cottages and bungalows stand in mature tropical gardens on Ba Keo Beach, a quiet section of Long Beach, with a private beach in front. The rooms have no TVs, and the original family bungalow now holds two Large Seaview Rooms with outdoor rain showers.
The Spice House cooks Vietnamese family recipes with Mediterranean touches, using spices from the resort's own plantations. Guests staying at the resort get free yoga classes six days a week. The atmosphere favors calm and nature over kids' clubs or entertainment programs, so the resort suits older children better than young ones.
Best for: couples and wellness-minded travelers who want a quiet beach stay with daily yoga.

La Festa Phu Quoc, part of Hilton's Curio Collection, stands in Sunset Town at the southern tip of the island, in buildings inspired by the Amalfi Coast. Its infinity pool is shared by all guests and lies on the sea side of the resort: the open edge faces the ocean and the Kiss Bridge, and guests watch the sun set over the water from the loungers.
The resort has direct beach access, and the town around it is busy in the evening. Fireworks light up the sky every night, and two rooftop venues have front-row seats for the Kiss of the Sea show: Cielo, a terrace bar, and Francesca, a pool bar on the seventh floor of the Terza building. The setting is lively rather than secluded.
Rooms and suites follow the Mediterranean theme, with coastal views and rain showers, and several categories have balconies or ocean views. Eight restaurants and bars, the eforea spa and a lemon-themed Kids' Club complete the resort.
Best for: couples who want sunsets and an evening scene, and families who want a kids' club on site.

Chen Sea Resort & Spa is a resort of 36 villas in a secluded bay at Ong Lang, on the northwest coast of Phu Quoc. Tropical rainforest surrounds the bay, and a private stretch of beach runs along the front. Its beachfront infinity pool is shared by all guests and sits in the garden just behind the sand, with the open edge facing the Gulf of Thailand and the sunset.
Only the Two Bedrooms Pool Villas have private infinity pools. They stand on the fourth row with the hills behind them, and their pools sit on a terrace surrounded by greenery; the sea view comes from the master bedroom upstairs. The Beachfront Villas are on the first row, with direct access to the sand and a sunken outdoor bathtub. The six Jacuzzi Villas are dark-wood houses in the Hoi An style, taken apart and rebuilt here, with an outdoor jacuzzi and a partial sea view.
Il Ristorante, the Italian restaurant on the beachfront, also serves Vietnamese dishes, and spa treatments take place in three traditional timber pavilions. Non-motorized water sports are included from November to April and stop during the monsoon months.
Best for: couples looking for a quiet beach stay, and families or two couples sharing a pool villa.

Facing west over the Gulf of Thailand, Dusit Princess Moonrise Beach Resort stands on Long Beach, on the west coast of Phu Quoc. Its centerpiece is a large beachfront infinity pool, shared by all guests, that runs through the garden toward the sand, its sea-facing edge lined up with the horizon. A swim-up bar sits in the water, wooden pavilions with loungers line both sides, and the pool looks straight into the sunset.
The rooms and suites have a Vietnamese-Thai design, and each one has a private balcony with a view of the ocean or the garden. The Moonrise Suites add a rooftop garden terrace facing the sunset.
Dusit is a hotel group from Thailand, and several venues reflect it. Luna Thai Spa has a salt sauna, a steam room and a Jacuzzi, and Soi 14, a bar with ocean views, serves Thai street food. Breakfast is a buffet of Vietnamese, Thai and Western dishes at Palm Kitchen, which overlooks the garden and the beach.
Best for: couples who want a beachfront pool facing the sunset, and travelers drawn to Thai spa treatments and Thai food.

On Ong Lang Beach, on the northwest coast of Phu Quoc, Grand Ocean Bay is a resort of bungalows and villas set in gardens by the sand. Its infinity pool is shared by all guests: the water runs flush to the seaward edge and meets the horizon under the palms. A second, free-form pool sits on the beach.
For a pool of your own, book the Beachfront Villa with Private Pool, a one-bedroom villa whose private infinity pool sits between the garden and the sea. The other villas look onto the garden or partly onto the ocean, and most bungalows and Ocean Breeze rooms face the garden, so a sea view has to be booked.
The design leans on natural materials: golden ironwood pillars, hand-carved stone sculptures named 'Flying Clouds' and, in the Signature Bungalows, thatched roofs inspired by the stilt houses of Vietnam's Central Highlands. Breakfast is a buffet at Tropicana Restaurant, and Paradise Restaurant serves dinner by the ocean. Best for: couples who want a calm beach stay, and travelers who like wood and stone design.

At JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, private infinity pools come only with the Three-Bedroom Villas and LAMARCK House. In the villas, the pool sits on a terrace facing the gardens; LAMARCK House is a single seven-bedroom villa on the beach, with sea views at sunrise. The One-Bedroom Villas have plunge pools. Other guests share the resort's three pools, Shell, Sun and Sand, and the Sun Pool is reserved for adults.
The resort lines the sand of Khem Beach, on the southeast coast of Phu Quoc, and looks over Emerald Bay. Architect Bill Bensley designed it around the story of a fictional 19th-century French university: classrooms became guest rooms, the villas follow the themes of academic departments, and an old mushroom wharf now holds the Chanterelle Spa. The resort is certified by Green Globe.
Rooms and suites have private balconies. Pink Pearl serves French cuisine with Mediterranean touches under Michelin-starred chef Olivier Elzer, and the Department of Chemistry Bar mixes cocktails in a science-lab setting. Families have a kids' club with direct access to a kids' pool. Best for: families or groups of friends who book a Three-Bedroom Villa, and travelers drawn to themed design.

Each of the 215 villas at Premier Village Phu Quoc Resort has a private infinity pool, so every villa category comes with one. The resort, managed by Accor, covers Ong Doi Cape at the southern tip of the island: a peninsula with the sea on both sides and a beach on each shore, one for the sunrise and one for the sunset. A multi-layer shared pool connects the two beaches.
The villas sit at different heights along the cape, and the view depends on the category. Garden villas look over tropical plants, while the others face the sea, from the beachfront villas with direct access to the sand to the On The Rock villas on a cliff above the bay. Even the smallest villa has three bedrooms, with a living room, a dining area and a kitchenette, so the villas are sized for families and groups of friends.
Plumeria Spa stands on the hilltop, and Corallo serves fusion cuisine on the beach near the shared pool. The resort also has a Kids' Club, and an all-inclusive package is sold separately and can be added to a villa booking. Best for: families and groups of friends who want to share one villa with its own infinity pool.
Before you book
Five questions that decide which of the hotels above fits your trip.
Long Beach suits most first stays: it is the long, developed beach on the west coast, facing the sunset over the Gulf of Thailand. Its sea is generally good for swimming in the dry season. Half of the hotels on this page stand on it, from the all-suite Regent Phu Quoc and the large InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort to garden resorts such as Salinda Resort Phu Quoc, Cassia Cottage and Dusit Princess Moonrise Beach Resort. Restaurants and the town of Duong Dong are close by.
Ong Lang, just north of Duong Dong, feels more like a beach getaway, with smaller beach sections, quiet roads and more green. Chen Sea Resort & Spa Phu Quoc sits in a secluded bay backed by rainforest, and Grand Ocean Bay Resort Phu Quoc is a resort of bungalows and villas in gardens by the sand.
The south is where the large resorts keep everything on site. La Festa Phu Quoc, Curio Collection by Hilton stands in Sunset Town at the southern tip, a built-up resort town that stays busy in the evening. Premier Village Phu Quoc Resort covers Ong Doi Cape, a peninsula with a beach on each side, one for sunrise and one for sunset. JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa lines Khem Beach on the southeast coast, a stretch of white sand with calm water and gentle waves.
For a quiet week, we would choose Chen Sea, for that secluded bay and an infinity pool just behind the sand.
On this page, most infinity pools sit at beach level, with the open edge facing the Gulf of Thailand. One is on a rooftop, and two southern resorts keep the infinity edge for their villas.
The beach-level pools put you a few steps from the sand. Salinda's pool is salt-filtered and faces the beach, and Cassia's sits at the sea end of the garden behind a row of palms. Dusit's long pool runs through the garden toward the sand, with a swim-up bar. At InterContinental, the Vista Pool sits at the heart of the resort with ocean views. At Ong Lang, Chen Sea's pool lies on the beachfront lawn and Grand Ocean Bay's runs flush to its seaward edge under the palms. In Sunset Town, La Festa's infinity pool lies on the sea side of the resort, facing the Kiss Bridge and the sunset.
The rooftop infinity pool is at Regent, on level 10 of the Sky Wing, facing the sea and the sunset. It is designed as an adults-only area, and access to it is listed among the Regent Club privileges. A minimum age applies, but the age is not published.
On the cape, Premier Village spreads its villas over a peninsula, and each villa has its own infinity pool; the shared multi-level pool links the two beaches. JW Marriott, a university-themed resort on Khem Beach, has three shared pools by the coast: Sand, Shell and Sun. Its infinity edges belong to the villas described in the next section.
Choose a beach-level pool if you want the sand a few steps away. For a sunset view from higher up, our pick is Regent, if the access conditions above suit your stay.
At seven of the ten hotels, any room gets you the infinity pool. At Regent, the rooftop pool is a Regent Club privilege, and at JW Marriott and Premier Village the infinity edge is only in the villas.
Five resorts sell villas with a private infinity pool: the Sky Pool Villas in Regent's Sky Wing, the Two Bedrooms Pool Villas at Chen Sea, the Beachfront Villa with Private Pool at Grand Ocean Bay, the three-bedroom villas and LAMARCK House at JW Marriott, and every villa at Premier Village.
The size of the villa decides the rest. For a couple, the one-bedroom choices are Regent's King Sky Pool Villa and the Beachfront Villa at Grand Ocean Bay. Regent's has a sunset-facing private infinity pool in the Sky Wing; Grand Ocean Bay's pool sits between the garden and the sea. For a family or a group of friends, JW Marriott's three-bedroom villas put the pool on a terrace facing the gardens.
Two resorts also sell an optional all-inclusive plan: Chen Sea and Premier Village. If you are not staying, InterContinental sells a Day Pass Card at its front desk, and Cassia Cottage sells pool access to visitors.
For a private infinity pool, we would choose Premier Village: every villa has one, so any category you book comes with the pool. The compromise is size, since the villas start at three bedrooms.
Every hotel on this page takes guests of all ages, so couples look for an adults-only pool inside a resort rather than an adults-only resort. Regent's Sky Wing rooftop pool is designed as an adults-only area, and JW Marriott's Sun Pool is marked Adult Only. Cassia Cottage keeps one of its three pools for adults. No age is published for these pools, though a minimum age applies at Regent, so ask the resort if you travel with teenagers.
For couples, we would choose Cassia Cottage: a family-run resort on a quiet section of Long Beach, with an adults-only pool.
Three resorts are built around families: InterContinental, JW Marriott and Premier Village. JW Marriott has a kids club and a children's pool, and Premier Village gives a family a villa with its own pool.
Our pick for families is InterContinental: the SPLASH! Pool has water slides next to the kids club, and the Vista infinity pool is open to every guest.
Pool and beach days are best from November to April, the dry season, when the sea is calm and the sky is clear.
From November to March the northeast monsoon blows from the mainland side, so the west coast, where most of these hotels stand, stays flat and calm. December and January are the coolest months, with air around 26-30 C (79-86 F). April is hot and brings the warmest sea of the year.
The rainy season runs from May to October, with rougher seas and short, heavy showers. From May to September the southwest monsoon blows straight onto the western beaches, and the sea is roughest from July to September. On those days the pool, not the sea, is where you swim.
December to February is the busiest period, when prices are highest and popular resorts book up. The Tet holiday adds a domestic travel peak in late January or February.
Book between November and April for calm water on Long Beach and Ong Lang, and reserve early for the peak months. In the wet season, choose a hotel whose pool you would enjoy for a whole day.
